Our UX Designers work with other designers, Product, Architecture, and Delivery teams at Allegis to design and build engaging business applications for our users. We are champions of human-centered design, bridging the gap between users, business, and technical partners, and have a strong understanding of the design thinking framework. Senior UX Designers will collaborate with UX researchers and management on design strategy and own complex projects from wireframes to high fidelity comps. Senior UX Designers are responsible for high quality UX deliverables, can identify where UX research is needed, and are able to use data to drive UX decision making.Key UX deliverables and responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Facilitating Design Thinking Workshops• Wireframing • Prototyping • High-fidelity mockups• Journey Maps• Personas • Collaborate with UX Researchers and/or conduct your own usability testing • Define platform design standards, patterns, and guidelines
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Own the design of user interfaces to meet client needs, with an emphasis on efficiency, clarity, and usability
- Collaborate on the experience strategy with the Design Leads and Managers
- Iterate based on design feedback, UX research findings, business, and user needs
- Ability to use UX research and metrics to drive design decision making
- Collaborate with other designers and cross functional team members to understand business requirements and design effective solutions
- Effectively gather requirements of a project and define acceptance criteria for new experiences
- Effectively negotiate experience trade-offs with product management and technical partners
- Effectively communicate conceptual ideas and detailed design rationale, both verbally and visually, to clients and internal partners
- Participate as a leader and a contributor on interdisciplinary project-based teams that include visual designers, project managers and developers
- Ability to Identify user friction and pain points and design effective UX solutions
- Collaborate with a UX Researcher and/or conduct your own user research: Usability testing, user interviews, card sorts, tree tests, stakeholder Interviews, surveys
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
- 4-6 years of design experience
- BA/BS in design, HCI, or related field, UX Bootcamp/Certificate, or equivalent practical experience
- Proficient understanding of design best practices for platforms, responsive web, and mobile, including interaction design, and information architecture
- Experience in web application design strongly preferred.
- Proficient understanding of UX design processes and methodology
- Experience conducting and/or collaborating on usability testing
- Proficient in Human Centered Design theory/practice.
- Experience creating wireframes, site/system flows, information architecture, prototypes
- Has worked within an Agile environment
- Portfolio of UX & UI projects and deliverables required.
Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient with UX process and design tools such as:
- Figma
- Adobe Suite
- InVision
- Sketch
- Own the definition of the experience vision, usability requirements, and UX Architecture of a project
- Comfortable communicating, both verbally and written, the user experience designs to other cross functional team members and stakeholders.
- Facilitate UX workshops in the areas of discovery, empathy, prioritization, design review.
- Self-starter who can work autonomously and still recognize when to ask for support
- Ability to present your designs and solutions effectively
- Mentor more junior designers to support team growth
- Preference for designers with experience working on enterprise platforms

- The position is bonus eligible
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
Office Requirements:
- Required in office 2-3 days a week out of our headquarters in Hanover, MD or offices in Jacksonville, FL
