Opportunity 

Chewy is seeking a highly motivated, analytical, and hard-working Accounting Intern to join our Accounting team! This internship offers an outstanding opportunity to gain hands-on experience, blending analytical, technical, and strategic skills to drive impactful business decisions.

Intern Timeframe: June 8, 2026  – August 14, 2026 

Qualified Students:Students graduating in spring 2028 

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Assist with financial analysis, reporting, audit, and accounting activities, such as budgeting support, forecasting, variance analysis, period-end close, reconciliations, and testing procedures. 

  • Support projects tied closely to Chewy’s key initiatives, presenting to leadership at the conclusion of your internship

  • Learn and work with financial systems, tools, and data platforms used across Finance and Accounting

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Team Members and leaders across Chewy 

  • Build and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning 

  • Partner with teams to support Sarbanes-Oxley controls testing and contribute to operational audits 

  • Participate in strategic and annual planning processes to align business goals with financial outcomes 

  • Contribute to operational improvement and automation initiatives by identifying and implementing efficiencies, applying systems and tools, and supporting transformation projects.  

  • Prepare ad-hoc analyses and reports for leadership to drive key decisions   

 

What You’ll Need 

  • Enrolled full-time in a Bachelor’s program in Finance, Accounting, or Economics or in a Master’s/MBA program. Expected graduation is spring 2028  

  • Foundational knowledge in financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis 

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with attention to detail and a persistent drive to investigate and resolve problems 

  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment  

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and senior leaders 

  • Advanced Excel skills  

  • Current permanent U.S. work authorization required   

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from June 8, 2026 – August 14, 2026 

 

Bonus 

  • Familiarity with tools like SQL, Tableau, and automation tools such as Alteryx 

  • Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation  

The hourly rate for this role is $25.00.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
