Interested in influencing what customers around the world see when they turn on Prime Video? The Prime Video Personalization and Discovery matches customers with the right content at the right time, at all touch points throughout the content discovery journey. As a Principal Economist on the team, you will lead the way in shaping how Prime Video consistently makes smart, long-term decisions using online experimentation. Economists at Amazon partner closely with senior management, business stakeholders, and peer technologists to solve key business problems.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead initiatives to measure the value of new feature launches via large-scale online experiments and observational approaches
- Scale decision-making across Prime Video by owning tradeoff frameworks when competing interests fail to align
- Partner with finance, business, and product managers to bridge the gap between science decisions and business impact
- Develop new internal tools to provide visibility and explainability into the model outputs so users can understand and inform future features

Basic Qualifications

- PhD in economics or equivalent field
- Experience in industry, consulting, government or academic research

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in analytics and applied economics
- Experience in developing and executing an analytic vision to solve business-relevant problems
- Experience in building statistical models using R, Python, STATA, or a related software

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
