Job Description Overview
As a Data Modernization / Microsoft Fabric Architect Manager, you will lead the transformation of client data estates onto modern Microsoft data platforms, with a particular focus on Microsoft Fabric (including Data Factory within Fabric), Snowflake, and Databricks. You are a seasoned practitioner in Medallion architectures, adept at architecting and delivering unified, governed data platforms in multi-ecosystem environments. Your expertise spans data engineering, analytics, and platform domains, ensuring that solutions are both robust and future-ready.
The Work:
Design and implement end-to-end data architectures leveraging Microsoft Fabric components—OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Engineering, Data Factory, and Power BI—with a strong emphasis on Medallion architectural patterns.
Lead the modernization of legacy data platforms (e.g., SQL Server, SSIS, Snowflake, Tableau) into unified, cloud-scale architectures across Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, and Databricks.
Develop value cases, modernization roadmaps, and reference architectures aligned to client business priorities, ensuring technical excellence across data engineering and data management.
Define governance models, security frameworks, and compliant data management patterns for scalable data estates in multi-cloud environments.
Collaborate with AI architects to enable AI-ready data foundations supporting GenAI and intelligent agent scenarios.
Oversee technical delivery teams, ensuring architecture quality, performance, and reliability across data engineering, analytics, and platform operations.
Drive innovation by evaluating and adopting new Microsoft Fabric and Databricks capabilities, developing reusable accelerators, and leveraging Fabric’s Copilot features to streamline engineering and analytical workflows.
Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 25% to 75% depending on business need and client requirements.
Here’s What You Need:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate’s Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)
Minimum 5+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise-scale data platform design, and modern analytics, with demonstrable expertise in data engineering and data modernization programs.
Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with Lakehouse patterns, ETL/ELT frameworks, data governance, and BI/analytics solutions.
Minimum 1-2 years of experience architecting and delivering modern data platforms using Microsoft Fabric (including Data Factory), Snowflake, and Databricks, with substantial experience applying Medallion architecture across these environments.
Bonus Points If:
Deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric components across analytics, engineering, governance, and reporting.
Experience enabling AI/ML or GenAI workloads on top of enterprise data platforms.
Prior C-level consulting experience in delivering complex, multi-ecosystem data transformation programs.
Proven skills across the entire data lifecycle—including data engineering, analytics, and platform management—within multi-ecosystem environments.
Ability to leverage Microsoft Fabric’s Copilot features to enhance engineering and analytics workflows.
Track record of selling, delivering, and leading large, multidisciplinary technical teams in complex data transformation projects.
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
