The Business Architect connects strategy to execution by defining business capabilities, aligning cross‑functional priorities, and ensuring business and user experience needs are integrated into solution delivery. This role partners closely with User Experience (UX) designers to ground business requirements in real user needs, map end‑to‑end experiences, and create clear, scalable models that guide product and platform decisions.
What you’ll do
Strategic Alignment
Translate business strategy into business architecture artifacts (capability maps, value streams, operating models).
Identify capability gaps, dependencies, and opportunities to enhance business and experience outcomes.
Recommend where business investments will deliver the strongest impact.
Experience‑Led Capability Management
Collaborate with UX designers to define and maintain business capability models that reflect user needs and desired outcomes.
Ensure capability roadmaps incorporate both business priorities and experience design insights.
Align internal persona needs and customer journeys with business capabilities and future‑state processes.
Solution Alignment & Experience Integration
Co‑create business and functional requirements with UX designers to ensure both perspectives are reflected in solution designs.
Use journey mapping, service blueprinting, and experience mapping to validate requirements and identify gaps.
Ensure technology and business solutions support user needs, seamless experiences, and unified workflows.
Roadmapping & Portfolio Integration
Contribute to capability roadmaps that integrate strategy, experience insights, dependencies, and transformation milestones.
Identify reuse opportunities, common patterns, and improvements aligned with capability and experience design.
Support prioritization decisions by balancing business value, experience value, and modernization needs.
Governance & Engagement
Establish consistent processes for capability and experience review, documentation, and cross‑functional alignment.
Represent business and experience requirements in governance and decision‑making forums.
Serve as an escalation point for capability or experience alignment issues.
Cross‑Functional Leadership & UX Partnership
Partner with UX designers to lead persona‑centric discovery, journey mapping, and experience framing.
Facilitate workshops connecting user journeys, business capabilities, and solution requirements.
Advocate for intuitive, scalable, and seamless experiences across teams, platforms, and business units.
Provide business context and capability constraints while integrating UX insights into planning and delivery.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired in Computer Science.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Certification is required in some areas.
What you’ll bring
Experience with business architecture, capability modeling, and strategy‑to‑execution alignment.
Proven ability to collaborate with UX designers and integrate experience insights into requirements and solution design.
Strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills.
Ability to influence across functions without direct authority.

Our Lead Solutions Architect, earns between $158,200 - $237,400. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
