What You’ll Do
As the Communications Director for the Asia Pacific, Japan, and Greater China (APJC) Customer Experience (CX) organization, you will hold a pivotal leadership role driving strategic communications. You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams across CX and Cisco-including Sales, Marketing, PR/AR, and peer communications leaders-as well as senior leadership within the APJC region.
This is a fulfilling opportunity to partner with senior leaders to design and implement a comprehensive communications strategy. You will establish a consistent messaging framework for both internal and external audiences, provide high-level executive support to the CX APJC SVP, and actively elevate the CX brand and market recognition.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the end-to-end communications function for the CX APJC organization.
- Internal Strategy: Develop and execute an internal communications strategy and plan that aligns key messages with critical business priorities, supporting stakeholders across the organization.
- Community Building: Foster a strong sense of community within CX APJC through clear, compelling, and creative storytelling. Utilize modern channels and mediums, including All Hands, leadership meetings, SharePoint, Webex Spaces, video, and other digital platforms.
- Executive Visibility: Promote transparency and elevate the profile of the CX APJC SVP and position CX APJC leadership team
- Executive Support: Provide dedicated executive communications support to senior leadership, enhancing transparency for internal collaborators, customers, and partners.
- Thought Leadership: Identify, organize, and prepare executives for strategic speaking engagements, ranging from intimate internal forums to large-scale, external Cisco-branded events.
- External Relations: Facilitate external media interactions and narrative building, working in close alignment with Cisco’s Public and Analyst Relations teams.
Who You’ll Work With
You will be an integral part of the CX APJC organization, working directly with the SVP, the Director of Strategy & Planning, and the senior leadership team. Additionally, you will partner closely with Sales, Marketing, PR/AR, and other communications leaders to collaboratively craft messaging that amplifies our vision, value proposition, and thought leadership.

Requirements for the Role:
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven track record in communications development and program management.
- Executive Presence: Extensive experience in executive communications, including preparation for executive meetings, speaking engagements, analyst/media interactions, and major events.
- Communication Mastery: Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including executive leadership and customers, through exceptional written, verbal, and listening skills.
- Industry & Content Proficiency: It is critical for this leader to have the ability to understand Cisco and the broader technology industry. You must demonstrate a proficient level of understanding regarding the content required for this role. Understanding of Cisco Products and Services is preferable.
- Uncompromising Quality: Attention to detail and quality is a must. You must demonstrate an exceptionally high standard for detail, with consistent rigor in messaging precision, content integrity, and execution.
