About the Team

It's fun to work in a company where people truly believe in what they're doing. At Workday, we're committed to bringing passion and focus to the business of enterprise applications. We work hard, and we're serious about what we do. But we like to have a good time, too. In fact, we run our company with that principle in mind every day: One of our core values is fun.

Business Technology(BT) in Workday continues its mission to deliver unparalleled value to our business partners and customers. The Program and Business Operations team works with stakeholders within BT and outside to define, align on, and implement the strategic programs and operations. The team is also responsible for standardizing program methodologies, tools and operations/metrics across the BT organization to provide a unified experience to business stakeholders and customers.

About the Role

As a Sr. BizOps Analyst at Workday, you will be the foundational architect of our data ecosystem within the Business Technology (BT) organization. This isn't just a reporting role; it is a "data-first" operational role. You will be responsible for taking raw, fragmented data from disparate sources—finance systems, vendor data, and asset management logs—and transforming it into a high-fidelity source of truth.

Your mission is to build the "connective tissue" between raw data and executive decision-making, enabling our Directors and VPs to optimize budgets, manage global vendors, and rationalize our hardware and software footprint.

About You

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Orchestration & Synthesis: Design and maintain automated workflows to ingest, clean, and normalize "messy" data from multiple sources (e.g., ERP, procurement tools, and manual spreadsheets).
  • Asset & Spend Intelligence: Build and manage the data models that track the lifecycle of software/hardware assets and vendor spend, ensuring a 360-degree view of the BT budget.
  • Executive Tooling: Develop high-impact dashboards and self-service tools that allow VPs and Directors to visualize vendor performance, identify spend leakage, and track budget vs. actuals in real-time.
  • Data Governance: Act as the custodian of BizOps data integrity. Establish validation rules to ensure that information across different platforms is reconciled and accurate.
  • Strategic Rationalization: Use data to identify overlaps in software subscriptions and hardware underutilization, providing the "why" behind recommendations for cost savings.

Who You Are

  • The Data Translator: You have a "Data Engineer" mindset but speak the language of "Business Operations." You enjoy the challenge of making non-matching data sets align.
  • The Architect of Clarity: You don't just build charts; you build systems that make complex information "friendly" and intuitive for non-technical leaders.
  • The Problem Solver: You look at a raw dump of vendor invoices and see a puzzle to be solved, not a chore to be completed.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a highly analytical role (BizOps, FinOps, or Procurement Ops) with a heavy focus on data infrastructure.
  • Technical Toolkit: Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Prism, or PowerBI).
  • Proficiency in Python or R for data cleaning.
  • Proven ability to present complex data findings to executive-level stakeholders (VPs and Directors)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
  • Domain Knowledge: Previous experience with IT Financial Management (ITFM), Vendor Management, or Software Asset Management (SAM) is highly preferred.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

At Workday, we are committed to providing an accessible and inclusive hiring experience where all candidates can fully demonstrate their skills. If you require assistance or an accommodation at any point, please email
accommodations@workday.com.
