The RSM US Offices in India (USI) supports RSM U.S. risk consulting, transaction advisory, technical accounting, financial consulting, technology and management consulting, tax, and assurance engagement teams by providing access to highly skilled professionals for repeatable business processes over an extended business day. USI is a member of RSM International, the sixth largest global network of independent accounting, tax, and consulting firms.
We are seeking a visionary and technically grounded Director of Innovation & Automation with a primary focus on Generative AI and Agentic AI capabilities. This role will drive the strategic design, development, and deployment of intelligent automation solutions that transform how we deliver value within outsourced operations such as finance, accounting, and transaction processing.
Professional skills and responsibilities for this level include the following:
- Drive automation innovation for Finance & Accounting, BPO, and Shared Services functions, including:
- Month-End Close, Reconciliations, Journal Entries, and Reporting Automation
- Transaction Processing, Accounts Payable/Receivable, and Cash Application
- Document Understanding and AI-powered Data Extraction using GenAI
- Knowledge process automation for policy interpretation, exception handling, and audit readiness
- Support practice strategy, apply innovation to existing solutions and lead the development of new solutions.
- Partner with accounting SMEs to identify automation opportunities and translate business logic into agent workflows.
- Drive
- Lead the ideation, prototyping, and scaling of GenAI/Agentic AI solutions to augment decision-making, enhance customer experience, and optimize operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and adoption of AI solutions.
- Define KPIs and success metrics for automation efficiency, AI adoption, and innovation outcomes.
- Lead training and coach others within the team as well as providing data education to the broader practice
The successful candidate should meet the following requirements:
- 12+ years of experience in technology innovation, AI/ML, automation, or digital transformation roles.
- Proven experience in automating finance and operations functions (month-end close, reconciliations, transaction processing, or BPO)
- Proven success in designing and deploying GenAI or multi-agent systems at scale.
- Hands-on understanding of LLM frameworks (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, etc.) and automation ecosystems (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, etc.).
- Strong experience with cloud AI platforms (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI).
- Demonstrated ability to translate AI capabilities into measurable business outcomes.
- Design, build, and deploy AI agents that automate accounting workflows including invoice processing, reconciliations, journal entry creation, and variance analysis.
- Integrate agents with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Dynamics) and document understanding frameworks (e.g., UiPath, Azure AI).
Additional characteristics of the ideal candidate would also include:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proficiency in GenAI platforms (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio), Python, and RPA tools (e.g., UiPath).
- Experience in outsourcing solutions environment.
- Experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, etc.
- Expertise in relational databases and usage of SQL.
- Desire to understand and learn innovative concepts and practices.
- Willing to learn continuously, stretch your thinking, share your knowledge, and educate others
- Client-service driven and confident in their abilities and judgment
- Self-motivated, accountable and able to work with minimal direction and/or supervision
- Certifications in data analysis technologies such as Alteryx and Tableau
