Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Siemens Opcenter Subject Matter Expert (SME) to take on a client-facing advisory and leadership role as an Engineering Architect. This position requires extensive expertise in Siemens Opcenter (and related MES platforms such as SIMATIC IT/MOM) with a deep understanding of the manufacturing processes. As the SME, you will advise clients on leading practices, design high-level architecture for SAP-to-Siemens Opcenter integration, and lead the client through their digital manufacturing journey by providing clear, actionable, and innovative solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess the technical acumen to design and optimize processes, ensure seamless integration between shop floor operations and enterprise-level systems, and provide strategic guidance to key stakeholders. This is a client-facing role requiring exceptional communication skills, leadership, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Advisory and Leadership:
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them on leading practices and innovative solutions for integrating Siemens Opcenter/MES with SAP.
- Lead discussions with client stakeholders to understand business needs and provide actionable recommendations with clear "why/why not" explanations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact for MES-SAP integration initiatives.
- Technical Architecture and Design:
- Design high-level architecture for seamless data flow between SAP and Siemens Opcenter/MOM/MES, including outbound and inbound data flows.
- Create and maintain technical design documentation for MES-SAP integration, ensuring clarity and alignment with business and technical requirements (L1/L2 documentation expected in the first phase).
- Develop data synchronization strategies and work closely with Data Architects to define process and data flow maps.
- Solution Optimization and Troubleshooting:
- Optimize existing SAP-MES integrations for real-time data exchange, improved performance, and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues across the manufacturing IT/OT landscape.
- Ensure data consistency, integrity, and traceability across MES and SAP systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience advising clients on leading practices in system design and overall process flows
- 4 years of experience as a Siemens Opcenter SME with expertise in MOM/MES platforms (e.g. SIMATIC IT).
- Experience leading and managing a project team of up to 5 or more employees
Eligibility Requirements:
- US Citizens only (no dual citizenship)
- Minimum of an active Secret Clearance
- You must live local to St. Louis, MO OR be willing to travel to St. Louis every week Monday-Thursday
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Manufacturing Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- MES certifications or extensive experience with specific MES platforms.
- Experience with IoT platforms, edge computing, and Industry 4.0 technologies in manufacturing contexts.
- Knowledge of A&D (Aerospace & Defense) industry-specific processes and regulations is a plus.
