Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Senior Kubernetes Engineer to architect, implement, and operate enterprise-scale container orchestration platforms within cloud environments. This role focuses on building resilient, secure, and compliant Kubernetes clusters that support mission-critical workloads while maintaining the agility required for modern application delivery.
What we are looking for:
- Kubernetes Expertise
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, components, and operational patterns
- Experience with Kubernetes distributions: vanilla Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, or cloud-managed services
- Proficiency with Kubernetes networking: CNI plugins, service mesh (Istio, Linkerd), ingress controllers
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for complex distributed system issues
- Container runtime expertise: Docker, containers, CRI-O
- Cloud Platform Integration
- Multi-cloud Kubernetes deployment experience: EKS, AKS, OKE, or self-managed clusters
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Helm, Kustomize for Kubernetes resource management
- Cloud-native storage solutions and persistent volume management
- Integration with cloud security services and identity providers
- Security & Compliance
- Kubernetes security best practices: Pod Security Standards, network policies, admission controllers
- Container image security: vulnerability scanning, signing, registry security
- Secrets management integration: HashiCorp Vault, cloud KMS, Kubernetes secrets
- Understanding of zero-trust networking principles and implementation
- Automation & DevOps
- GitOps tools and workflows: ArgoCD, Flux, or similar platforms
- CI/CD integration with Kubernetes: Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub

- Monitoring and observability: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, distributed tracing
- Configuration management and policy enforcement tools
What you’ll need:
- 6 years container orchestration and cloud infrastructure experience
- 4 years hands-on Kubernetes administration and architecture design
- Experience deploying Kubernetes in enterprise or government environments
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and GitOps practices
- Experience in one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Go)
Bonus points if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field
- DoD 8570 compliance with IAT II certification (e.g.: Sec+) - will need to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Strong background in distributed systems, networking, and security
- Certifications such as: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS), Cloud platform certifications (AWS, Azure, Oracle) with container focus
- Service mesh architecture and implementation experience
- Multi-cluster management and federation patterns
- High-performance computing and GPU workload management
- Kubernetes operator development and custom resource definitions
- Kubernetes Helm chart development
- Experience developing GitOps workflows for application deployment and cluster configuration management
- Create CI/CD pipelines optimized for containerized government workloads
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting for Kubernetes environments
- Design automated scaling, healing, and maintenance procedures
- Troubleshoot complex distributed system issues across multi-cloud environments
Clearance:
- Must have an active Top Secret clearance; SCI eligibility preferred
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Vermont, the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
