Job Description

Lead SAP Architect

Meet Our Team:

The SAP Center of Excellence is responsible for the design, architecture and implementation of SAP-based solutions at Pega. We are responsible and accountable for ensuring the business and technical architecture of the delivered solutions follows SAP Best Practices, matches the customer technical and functional requirements. We are responsible for the mission critical systems which deliver the financial and revenue account recognition for the company. We are well established and highly qualified team of professionals building the blocks of quality solutions for the enterprise.

This senior role is for SAP Finance professionals; because of the federal exposure to these roles, we are unfortunately unable to sponsor, transfer, or work on OPT/CPT EAD at this time. The role is remote for EST-based candidates only.

As a functional lead you will have a fantastic opportunity to work on the critical financial systems of Pega. You will be influencing key decisions on the financials systems and designing solutions for the future. You will be a critical part of a high performing team and delivering world class solution architecture. You will be critical to the success of the business and stability of the mission critical systems. You will be involved in delivering the remainder of the SAP S4 Brownfield migration and stabilizing the system post go-live with innovation opportunities coming in Phase 2.

 

What You'll Do at Pega:

  • SAP Application Development and Configuration
    • Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, configuration, unit testing, UAT and Production deployment for SAP implementations and enhancements. 
    • Configure and test functionality within Finance (Banking, Assets, GL, AP, AR, etc)
    • Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of issues as well as identifying risks
    • Create requirement, functional and configuration specifications
  • SAP Application Architecture
    • Understand the business architecture (process, data, features/functionalities to solve business problems)
    • Consider the SAP and non-SAP landscape at Pega when proposing solutions.
    • Identify and design solutions under the supervision of Fellow Architects
    • Ensure solutions are implemented in a way that meets the business needs and are agile enough to respond to future changes. Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, configuration, unit testing, UAT and Production deployment for SAP implementations and enhancements
  • Lead oversight and review of engineering and application team deliverables
    • Lead backlog reviews and collaborate with the business to prioritize stories and projects.
    • Lead projects and initiatives
    • Provide oversight to any critical deliverables from development/functional team
    • Review technology solutions and alternate options with pros/cons and make recommendations
  • Production support
    • Troubleshoot production support issues that arise from both technical and functional issues
  • Collaboration with functional teams and business
    • Participate in functional specification and design reviews
    • Collaborate with other SAP and non-SAP Architects as well as business to implement Finance solutions
    • Liaise with QA Resources to ensure clear testing scenarios and follow through on testing results and issues
    • Collaborate with the DEV team to design and develop custom reports and interfaces for FI.
    • Communicate with infrastructure, security, compliance, production support team to ensure that delivered features have the best quality and support process for any issues

 

Who You Are:

You are a team player with a results-driven attitude and demonstrated experience in SAP technology. A problem solver who can propose solutions to business problems. An architect with clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and who can operate with minimal supervision. An avid learner who thinks outside of the box and is motivated by challenging problems.

 

What You've Accomplished:

  • BS (ideally Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Accounting/Finance)
  • 10+ years of experience in SAP ECC 6.0 FI/CO processes and configuration
  • 3+ years of experience in SAP S/4 HANA
  • Experience in Solution Architecture
  • Experience in Tax Calculation software such as OneSource
  • Expert knowledge of Contract to Cash, Revenue, Procurement, Tax and Finance concepts
  • Expert knowledge of user exits, tables, configuration and SAP best practices within Finance areas.
  • Familiar with integration points between SD/MM and FICO
  • Participated in 4 or more full life cycle SAP implementation and upgrade projects
  • Experience debugging and resolving issues, and proposing new features or improvements to existing business processes
  • Experience with integrating third party applications with SAP using different technologies/products
  • Understanding of SOX compliance, security requirements, user controls and segregation of duties and responsibilities
  • Overall knowledge of SAP landscapes, transport paths and transport best practices, and migrations
  • Working knowledge of Basis administration and operation control for implementation projects as well as support and maintenance of production environments
  • Certified in S/4HANA Finance

Additional Information

Base salary range for this role is 120,500 - 183,500 USD annually. This role may also be eligible for annual bonus OR commission, as well as benefits and other incentives.

The final compensation will be determined during the offer process based on the candidate's education, experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as market conditions and may vary from the posted range. We will share an information on benefits, bonus/commission, and other pay components for this role at the relevant recruitment stage.
