Design Engineer

Job Description:

Position Summary:

In this position, successful candidate will maintain NPPD Gate deliverables and its process, design products within budget, as well as manage NPPD program scope and its risks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain NPPD Gate deliverables and process
• Design products within budget
• Mentor fellow team members during project design process
• Manage NPPD program scope and risk
• Enhance products in performance and safety
• Help remove cross departmental barriers when designing
• Maintain and develop transition of project to Design Engineering team
• Ensure cross departmental design reviews
• Provide some support for production machines
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

• Requires, at a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficient in mechanical design, detailing, and the use of computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software
• Experience with Solidworks is required
• Knowledge of common manufacturing terminology and techniques, including welding, fabricating, and machining.
• Thorough knowledge of English and Metric units of measurement, as well as basic mathematics and geometry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
