Position Summary

The Director, HR Business Partner (HRBP) for Universal Studios Hollywood (USH) serves as a strategic leader and trusted advisor, responsible for designing and executing HR strategies that align with and accelerate business objectives. This role leads the HRBP team in delivering high-impact initiatives across talent planning, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and scalable HR solutions.

Operating at both strategic and operational levels, the Director partners closely with senior leadership to anticipate workforce needs, drive cultural transformation, and foster a high-performance environment. This role is instrumental in enhancing team and leadership effectiveness, ensuring HR strategies are agile, data-informed, and deeply aligned with USH’s brand and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Culture & Engagement Strategy: Develop and implement long-term strategies to foster a culture of excellence and exceptional Team Member engagement. Introduce innovative, brand-aligned experiences that energize and connect employees.
  • Data-Driven Impact: Measure and analyze the effectiveness of engagement and development programs, using insights to continuously refine and improve outcomes.
  • Leadership Development: Coach and advise managers to build leadership capability, drive empowerment, and strengthen team performance.
  • HR Solutions Delivery: Provide timely, creative, and scalable HR solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness and support business transformation.
  • Employee & Manager Coaching: Offer proactive, compassionate guidance to employees and leaders, addressing challenges and fostering growth.
  • Talent Development: Partner with leaders to assess development needs and implement targeted plans for individual and team growth.
  • Team Member Satisfaction: Lead the rollout and action planning of Team Member Satisfaction survey results, partnering with leaders to drive meaningful improvements.
  • Talent Acquisition Partnership: Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to design and execute strategic staffing plans that support business success.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the HRBP team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and exceptional client service.
  • HR Process Management: Oversee execution of core HR processes including Goal Setting, Performance Management, Compensation Planning, Talent Reviews, and Learning & Development initiatives.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related field required
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations, talent acquisition, and workforce planning
  • 5+ years in an HR leadership role

Preferred Qualifications & Characteristics

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and executive presence
  • Exceptional coaching, consulting, and organizational design capabilities
  • Proven ability to influence and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Solid interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ownership mindset with a track record of setting strategy and driving execution
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing HR teams
  • Proven project and process management skills with a results-oriented approach

Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
