Why You're a Fit
Job Description
Role Summary
As Product Manager for Transaction Services, you'll own the product strategy and roadmap for your dedicated platform squad, delivering critical infrastructure and shared capabilities that power our flagship products. This is an individual contributor role where you'll drive specific transaction related services from conception to delivery, working directly with engineering teams and collaborating with Principal PMs to ensure platform capabilities meet product needs.
As Product Manager for the Transaction Services team, you will be the 'source of truth' for all transaction data flowing through the ComplyAdvantage platform. You will be responsible for ensuring that whether a client sends a card payment, a bank transfer, or crypto, it is instantly structured, enriched, and searchable. Your work directly enables our Transaction Monitoring, Payment Screening and our future transaction products to detect financial crime in real-time at massive scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute product strategy for your platform squad, defining the roadmap for specific platform services and capabilities
- Lead your engineering squad through discovery, design, and delivery of platform solutions that meet the needs of multiple product teams
- Partner directly with Principal Product Managers to understand flagship product requirements and ensure platform services support their needs
- Define and monitor platform metrics for your services, establishing SLAs and measuring impact on developer productivity
- Make technical product decisions for your domain, balancing performance, scalability, and usability requirements
- Champion developer experience for your platform services through clear documentation, intuitive APIs, and responsive support
- Conduct discovery with product teams to identify needs and opportunities within your platform domain
- Drive platform feature delivery through effective prioritisation, sprint planning, and stakeholder communication
- Stay current with platform technologies relevant to your domain and apply best practices to your services
- Communicate progress and challenges to stakeholders, building trust through transparent and proactive updates
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of product management experience with at least 1 year working on technical platform or infrastructure products
- Demonstrated experience owning and delivering platform features that support multiple teams or products
- Strong technical understanding with the ability to engage deeply in architectural discussions with engineering and implementation teams.
- Experience leading engineering teams through full product development lifecycle
- Track record of successful collaboration non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills with experience using metrics to drive decisions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
About You
You likely have some or all of the following experiences:
- You've owned platform services or developer tools and understand the unique challenges of internal products
- You're comfortable making technical trade-offs and can articulate the reasoning behind your decisions
- You have experience working autonomously whilst maintaining alignment with broader organisational goals
- You're familiar with cloud platforms, APIs, and modern infrastructure patterns
- You value the impact of good platform design on developer productivity and product velocity
- You enjoy the challenge of balancing multiple stakeholder needs whilst maintaining service coherence
- You're ready to own outcomes for your squad and drive results independently
- You don’t need to be an AML expert, but you must be willing to learn and fascinated by hard technical problems like event-driven architectures and data consistency.
- You value performance metrics as much as feature delivery.
- You are comfortable moving beyond "internal" requirements to conduct regular discovery calls with clients to understand their needs and challenges when it comes to regulatory compliance.
We're looking for someone who combines product ownership skills with technical depth. If you see yourself in most of these points – or if you bring different but equally valuable experiences – we'd love to hear from you.
What Success Looks Like
In 90 days: You have built deep architectural empathy. You understand the "why" behind our current transaction infrastructure and have established high-trust relationships with the Engineering and Product leads. You are no longer "learning" the domain; you are actively prioritising the backlog based on a clear understanding of client needs and strategic priorities.
In 6 months: You've delivered significant platform enhancements that have been adopted by product teams, and have developed a clear long term strategy and roadmap. The Transaction Services squad is operating with high velocity and is delivering platform capabilities that allow flagship products to scale. You are making data-driven trade-offs that balance immediate product needs with long-term technical health.
In 12 months: You've established efficient processes, strong metrics, and serve as the strategic bridge between our backend services and our flagship products. You are seen as the in-house expert on transaction-related intelligence.
Why This Role Matters
This position is essential to our product organisation's technical foundation. You'll own platform services that directly impact our ability to build and scale products effectively.
As a Product Manager for Transaction Services, you'll develop deep technical product skills whilst having real ownership and impact. This role offers excellent growth opportunities, whether progressing to more senior levels for more complex challenges or exploring other product domains.
