Job Description

<undefined>The Seattle Police Department is currently seeking an Identification Data Specialist. This position is charged with analyzing and processing SPD criminal bookings; review, research, edit and electronically transfer the bookings to the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation; problem solve booking information issues; audit open investigation charges; and verify Superior, District, and Municipal court charges.<br></undefined><undefined>Position Responsibilities:</undefined><br><undefined><br data-pasted="true">• Provide assistance to criminal justice and other authorized agents.<br>• Review document information to verify accuracy.<br>• Identify problems in documents, such as wrong case numbers, performing research via electronic databases, paper documents, or telephone calls to solve problems and editing documents prior to transmission.<br>• Enter data and transmit Live Scan Booking Arrests to the Washington State Patrol and FBI.<br>• Verify information to be included in documents of public record.<br>• Distribute booking and disposition sheets.<br>• Audit open investigation charges for disposition and charging information.<br>• Identify errors and omissions and make referrals as directed per standard operation procedure.<br>• Maintain filing systems.<br>• Quality control and problem solving records issues.<br>• Provide specialized and technical, program specific information to internal and/or external customers.<br>• Comply with requests for copies of mug photographs.<br>• Perform other related duties of comparable level/type as assigned.<br></undefined><undefined>Required Qualifications:</undefined><br><undefined><br data-pasted="true">This position requires two years of office clerical support experience (or a combination of education training, and/or experience) which provides evidence of the ability to perform work of the class.<br>The Seattle Police Department is an Equal Opportunity Employer that Values Diversity in the Workforce</undefined><br><undefined><br>Desired Qualifications:</undefined><br><undefined><br>• The ability to exercise good judgment, organize workload, problem solve, and provide good customer service.<br>• The ability to work independently and adjust priorities on short notice.<br>• Exhibit a strong interpersonal skill set.<br>• Experience answering multi-line phones, voicemail, and intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Office.<br>• Ability to communicate clearly and handle a variety of tasks and assignments in a timely manner.</undefined><br><undefined><br>Position Requirements:</undefined><br><undefined><br>• Must pass a Seattle Police Department background investigation.<br>• Must be able to obtain Level One Certification for the Washington Crime Information Center, Washington State Identification and Criminal History Section and the National Crime Information Center as required to access these databases. Current City employees’ starting rate of pay will be based on Personnel Rules regarding promotions. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) regular position with full benefits.
